Kay and Christian are pleased to welcome you to “De Waterzooi Suites,” located in the heart of medieval Ghent with a view of the Gravensteen and the historic skyline. De Waterzooi is situated on the historic site of the former St. Veerle Church (circa 10th century) and is a protected monument. Between the remaining walls and vaults of the church(es), a residential house was built in 1737. From 1856 to 2004, it was the renowned “Restaurant Waterzooi,” until we purchased the property. After years of extensive renovations, we finally opened a luxury “B&B De Waterzooi” in 2008, an accommodation with plenty of space and stunning views. Those were wonderful and successful years during which we had the privilege of welcoming guests from all over the world.
Today, after 17 years, we have discontinued the “B&B” concept and changed it to “De Waterzooi Suites,” where we still offer our suites as before, but without breakfast. Upon your arrival, we will be happy to share interesting facts about Ghent, museums, markets, and attractions. A list of breakfast suggestions nearby will also be provided, including the closest options at 30 and 40 meters from our accommodation.
